Recommended for Physicians. This webinar will review acute asthma management in the emergency department including the diagnosis of acute asthma in young children, dosing of oral corticosteroids and escalation therapies with intravenous bronchodilators.

Objectives: 

1. Discuss presumptive diagnosis of asthma in children 1-5 years of age 
2. Review paediatric respiratory assessment measure based therapy 
3. Discuss timing of corticosteroid therapy and dose rationale 
4. Review indications for IV magnesium and evidence of benefit 
5. Discuss discharge therapy criteria for ICS and its duration
