Description

Recommended for nurses caring for children with diabetes in the school setting. This webinar will provide an overview of diabetes care, management goals for children with type 1 diabetes and discuss management of urgent and non-urgent diabetes care in the school setting.

Objectives: 

• Share the management goals for paediatric diabetes care 
• Review the typical daily care routines for children with type 1 diabetes 
• Look at the common devices used to monitor glucose levels and administer insulin 
• Discuss urgent situations that could occur in the school setting 
• Discuss non-urgent school situations that the family and/or Diabetes Team can follow up on and/or plan for
