DESCRIPTION:\n\nDescription\n\n\n\nConnected Care webinar series delivers education on foundational knowledge on specific medical technology.  Each webinar aims to provide an overview of up-to-date nursing practices related to the care of the technology.  These webinars will complement our competency-based education workshops offered at SickKids throughout the year.\n\n\n\nObjectives\n\n\n\n\nReview principles of aseptic non-touch technique (ANTT) in preventing central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI) \n\n\n\nReview assessment of line patency and flushing techniques \n\n\n\nDemonstrate proper technique when changing a child’s dressing \n\n\n\nDemonstrate proper technique when changing a child’s cap connector \n\n\n\n\nTarget Audience\n\n\n\nNurses who have previously taken a Connected Care module and require a refresher to support caring for a child with this technology or nurses who have previous experience caring for a child and require an update on best practices.\n\n\n\nMode\n\n\n\nWebinars are delivered through a videoconferencing platform called Zoom ( https://zoom.us/ ).
