DESCRIPTION:\n\nDescription \n\n\n\nThis competency-based workshop will prepare the community healthcare provider with the knowledge and skills to care for children requiring non-invasive ventilation and mechanical in-exsufflation.  A pre-reading package is required to be completed prior to attending the workshop in order to participate in discussions and learning activities.  Participants will have the opportunity to practice skills and participate in simulation scenarios caring for a child with non-invasive ventilation.\n\n\n\nPre-requisites: Registered participants are required to complete the pre-learning package prior to attending the workshop in order to fully participate in the learning activities planned throughout the day.\n\n\n\nObjectives\n\n\n\n\nIdentify the indications for requiring non-invasive ventilation support\n\n\n\nIdentify the indications for requiring mechanical in-exsufflation (Cough Assist)\n\n\n\nDemonstrate safe and effective set-up of non-invasive ventilation (Stellar and Trilogy devices)\n\n\n\nPractice alarm management of home ventilators\n\n\n\nDemonstrate safe and effective care of a child receiving home ventilation and mechanical in-exsufflation\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nZoom Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n0900-1030: Review of non-invasive ventilation and mechanical in-exsufflation in children1030-1045: Break1045-1215: Rotating Practice Stations1215-1300: Lunch – on your own1300-1530: Simulations1530-1600: Wrap up & Evaluations\n\n\n\n\n\nPrior to Attending\n\n\n\nIt is a requirement that registered participants review the the following documents prior to attending the workshop in order to fully participate in the learning activities planned throughout the day.\n\n\n\n
