DESCRIPTION:\n\nDescription \n\n\n\nThis full day competency-based workshop will prepare the community healthcare provider with the knowledge and skills to care for children requiring invasive ventilation via a tracheostomy.  A pre-reading package is required to be completed prior to attending the workshop in order to participate in discussions and learning activities.  Participants will have the opportunity to practice skills and participate in simulation scenarios caring for a child with invasive ventilation.\n\n\n\nObjectives\n\n\n\n\nIdentify the indications for requiring invasive ventilation support via a tracheostomy\n\n\n\nDemonstrate safe and effective set-up of invasive ventilation\n\n\n\nPractice alarm management of home ventilators\n\n\n\nDemonstrate safe and effective care of a child receiving home ventilation via a tracheostomy\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nSickKids Simulation Centre175 Elizabeth Street, Simulation Centre, Level B1, Training Room DToronto, ON\n\n\n\nPlease note that this workshop is Located in the new Support Tower on the corner of Elizabeth and Elm Street.
